This obviously is an indication that it is necessary to run the Adjustment Program as stated in the following referenced article.Īccording to Peter Offermann, in the following article: Any attempt to print a Nozzle Check or any other type of printing, the two top buttons (forms eject and Ink Cartridge Change) plus the Power Button lights blink. Progress is now to the point of having the printer completely re-assembled with parts and covers in place. This is the smallest X stud that I have ever seen than holds the cap over the entire unit. Now, I don't know if I can ever get it back together and the cap on it but we will know later. I used a small Knife Blade point and turned the small top right device to the left (left type threads) and the complete face fell off after several turns. I guess where there is a will there is a way. The Sensor appears to be slightly less than 1 inch square. Evidently it requires adjustments to be made. The second need is the software for making adjustments after the unit is opened and cleaned. The PK Sensor is the rather small unit below the Red lines.
#EPSON PRINTER DRIVERS R1800 HOW TO#
I have not determined how to remove the Sensor cover. I have the top and bottom printer covers off and have done a "clean up" job to remove excess ink.Īttached is a snapshot of the (PW) Paper Width Sensor (without the cover being removed). I have progressed to a point with my Epson R1800 Printer) attempting to correct what is causing a Paper Jam error message when there is NO paper jam. The area where the CD/DVD Carrier goes is vert narrow and hard to see in that area even with a strong light. I wonder if there is some type of switch (either mechanican or electronic type) in the lower area that may have gotten activated causing the Jam message. I have not used that feature on this printer.

The R1800 printer has provisions for printing on CD and DVD. But seems to be a common issue among printers.
